Split leather is as functional as a tool in re-enactment armor leather?

I ask because tools is much more expensive leather and split leather work if would as that is what I have to go. I make a plate leg guards and tanks that are stained is cured as well as with wax. Thank you.

Absolutely not …. Split leather is not stiff the quality you need for Armour. Not pretty, but a lot of the guys have re-used carpet remnants It took the hits with out too much damage for themselves. Sorry tools Leather is really what you need:) I really expensive but worth it, but you can message that you get a Lot cheaper to use. My leather has a large supply of container by the pound. If you want to change your armor, it will be more salable in you re-enactment group. Have you gone this way yet … To see if someone something to sell? Hope this helps
